WEDDING INVITATIONS:
Most of these can be applied to Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or any large scale event. If you do find the answer to your question here, feel free to contact us and I will be glad to assist you.
When should I order my wedding invitations? It is a good idea to order your invitations 3 to 6 months prior to your wedding date, but make sure all your details are in order first, such as ceremony and reception times.
When should I mail my wedding invitations? Four to six weeks before the event is the general rule for mailing invitations so guests are able to respond and receive their invitations in ample time. If possible, it is better to mail them 6-8 weeks before your wedding date if you are inviting guests who have to travel or if there is a holiday on your event or around your event. This will allow time for guests to make special arrangements.
What details do I to include in my invitation? This might sound like an obvious answer but I believe it is an important question. You should include the hosts of the event, who the event is for, date, time, and location. It is a good idea to have all of these details ironed out before sitting down to create your invitation.
What options do I have when ordering my invitation? You have many options including designs, layouts, as well as ink colors, typestyles, and wording. When ordering online the order form will walk you through these options or you are welcome to contact us for assistance.
How should I word my invitation? Well, this is a very important question. Wording will depend on the type of event you are having as well as who is hosting the event. I suggest going onto VerseIt.com, this site is very helpful in choosing wording for any special occasion. You just click on the event you are looking for and several options will appear and you can choose which one best suites your particular situation. If you have any further questions, please contact us and we will be glad to assist you.
Should I order extra invitations and extra envelopes? You should compile your guest list and figure out exactly how many invitations you need and then order 25 extra in case you forgot to include someone or you want to make an addition. It is more cost effective to order more initially then to add more later on. As for extra envelopes, it is a good idea to order 25 extra envelopes as well in case of any addressing mistakes or additions.
What are save the date cards and do I need to send one? Save the date cards include information about your wedding day and special accommodations that have been made for your out-of-town guests. These are sent out three to four weeks before the wedding. You don't have to send save the date cards but if you have a lot of guests who are traveling a distance or if you have planned your wedding on a holiday or around a holiday, it is a useful item to send.
Who do I need to send wedding announcements to? They are sent to any one you couldn't invite to the wedding and any one who you know can't attend the wedding. They are mailed on your wedding day, but after the ceremony. Ask a member of the wedding party to mail them for you after the ceremony.
How do I address the situation regarding having a no-children policy at my wedding? The best way to handle this is to make some phone calls to guests who have children and explain your decision. You can ask parents or family members to help you spread the word. It is not a good idea to put anything about this on the actual invitation though.
What is the difference between Thermography and Engraving? Thermography is a printing process that gives the appearance of engraving but is less expensive. Engraving is a printing process that uses raised lettering and when you turn the card over you can see the engraving through it. Thermography is the more popular printing method because of the fact that it is less expensive but looks just as nice as the Engraving process.
When ordering invitations, are there any extra costs I have to consider? Yes, Most invitation lines charge between $6.50- $10.00 per item for colored ink, black is always included. At the time of ordering you will be told if the ink color you select is extra. Another charge to consider is having your return address printed on the envelope flap. Each invitation line charges an extra fee for this and you will be told at the time of ordering. It is usually under $40. per hundred envelopes. Envelope liner is another extra charge and you will be told at the time of ordering.
How do I assemble my invitation when I receive my order? If there is an inner envelope with your invitation, all items should go in the inner envelope in relation to importance and size. First you will place your invitation inside, then the reply card tucked under the flap of the reply envelope will be placed next, then your reception card if you have one, lastly other items such as direction cards, hotel accommodation cards, can be placed in order of size. *Helpful tip: when sending out you invitations make sure you number each response card according to your guest list, because people have a tendency not to put their name on the response card, which makes it quite difficult to figure out who the response came from.
BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS:
What should I include in a birth announcement? Include the baby's full name, parents’ names, date, time, and weight. You can also include length of baby, the hospital in which the baby was born, and the address of the parents, these are options.
When should I send out the birth announcements? It is best to pick out the announcement you want and the specific details and when the baby arrives you can give the specifics on the baby to the invitation company. You should try and send out the announcements no later than 6 months after the baby is born.
INFORMAL PARTY INVITATIONS:
When should invitations be sent out for an informal party? Usually any where from a month – two weeks before event, depending on what type of party.
Is it okay to put an end time on an invitation? It is perfectly fine to put an end time; it is actually convenient for guests to plan.
How should I word the date? You should write out the month and numbers, you do not need the year
